Whitworth School

Case Study
Equitone pictura cladidng panels

Whitworth School is a 750-place secondary school developed to replace the former 1960s building, providing modern teaching facilities as part of the Department for Education’s Net Zero Carbon in Operation pilot programme.

The new school was delivered in phases, allowing pupils and staff to move into the new building while the existing facilities remained operational. Designed to provide over 5,000m² of teaching space for pupils aged 11 to 16, the development gives the school a modern learning environment while replacing a building that had served the community well beyond its intended lifespan.

Gordian fabricated EQUITONE [natura] Pro 8mm panels in NU961 Ecru with an anti-graffiti finish for the external façade. All cutting and routing was completed in-house using digital optimisation software to ensure accuracy and consistency across the elevations, while helping reduce material waste throughout the fabrication process.
