Insulated Roof Panels
Insulated roof panels made from metal are one of the most cost-effective and practical ways of making a building more energy efficient while also helping to regulate temperature throughout the year. These panels help to keep the interior of the building warmer in winter and cooler during the summer months. A more stable internal temperature can help to control condensation levels. This provides benefits for the health of occupants by minimising damp and mould, as well as protecting the fabric of the building from corrosion.
The insulated roof profiles offered by Gordian Building Solutions are constructed with an internal and external metal sheet, usually manufactured from painted and galvanised steel with an insulating layer between them
The insulation is available as either rockwool (or mineral wool), polyisocyanurate (PUR and PIR) or polyurethane. The type of insulation required will be dependent on the characteristics of the building project and influences insulation levels, thermal and moisture control, as well as and flammability. Depending on the structural strength required, metal sheet thicknesses between 0.4mm and 1.0mm are available.
The structure of the insulated roofing sheets is often a trapezoidal box profile structure for added strength. You can choose between a traditional tile aesthetic or corrugated profiles depending on the finish required without compromising on the reduced installation times offered.
We are proud to offer a choice of insulated metal roof panels that come with up to a market leading 40-year guarantee giving assured longevity for most buildings. This, coupled with our service gives you the confidence of investing in long term, low maintenance and energy efficient solutions.
We offer insulated roof panels from respected manufacturers including Tata, Joris Ide, Kingspan and others.
Our insulated roofing sheets offer multiple benefits when compared to traditional solutions including:
Simple installation:
You can choose from a wide range of thicknesses for your insulated roofing panels to achieve the required u-values and meet building regulations. Installation of these modern integrated panels is much less labour intensive than traditional twin skin or built up metal roofing solutions that come with multiple components and comprise several layers. ‘One layer’ or single component insulated roofing sheets allows you to cover a larger area in less time.
Design Flexibility:
We offer insulated roofing panels in a choice of colours and with a range of modular widths. This, coupled with the different profiles available means a variety of design options for horizontal installation. For convenience they are available for convex and concave roof designs.
Longevity:
Metal components that have been painted and galvanised last longer and age well too. Insulated Roofing profiles are manufactured using state of the art production systems and the highest quality materials to ensure a reliable long term service life.
Cost Effective:
There are short- and long-term cost benefits from insulated roof panels. In the short term, you gain more rapid construction times which can reduce development costs, while in the longer term, insulated panels offer advantages in terms of reducing energy costs. In many buildings, some 25% of heat can be lost through poorly insulated roofing. This leads to increased energy bills. Our durable insulated roof profiles are also durable, giving them a long useful lifespan.
Acoustic performance:
In building such as factories, agricultural sector, and schools, eliminating reverberation across the roof caused by high winds is essential. This covers both welfare and health and safety. Our Insulated Roof Panels are proven to help in this area by reducing noise transfer.
Healthy buildings:
Insulated metal Roof Panels from Gordian Building Solutions’ offer effective solutions for combatting condensation on the underside of roofs.
Condensation forms when humidity and temperature conditions reach the dew point. This can be a problem on non-insulated roofs where warm air rises to meet the cold surfaces. In some situations, droplets can fall which will accelerate corrosion and cause damage to the equipment and contents at ground level. Insulated roof profiles address this issue by ensuring the temperature on the panel does not reach the dew point. By combining the system with ventilation accessories, you can improve air flow to create healthier buildings with lower relative humidity.
